Inside Sales Representative

VC3, a dynamic information technology services organization headquartered in Columbia, SC has an opening for an Inside Sales Representative for our Columbia, SC office.  This position will prospect and qualify leads and contacts; establish initial customer relationships and determine possible needs for, or interest in, VC3’s Managed Services offering via outbound calling efforts. Dialogue will be business-oriented conversations with C-level executives and decision makers, not product/feature based sales.  This position will make 80-100 outbound calls daily, which will result in 10-15 business-oriented conversations leading to set appointments for our outside sales team.

This position also has a competitive base salary with uncapped commissions.

 Responsibilities:

  • Generate, prospect and qualify leads and contacts; establish initial customer relationships and determine possible needs for, or interest in, VC3’s Managed Services offering.  Probe to determine alternative and/or additional decision maker and influencer contact details, as appropriate.
  • Ensure each qualified lead or account is established within CRM with the appropriate referral, marketing or other tracking codes along with all other required information. 
  • Set appointments for the correct sales person based on region and criteria. Initially this position will focus on the Midlands region. 
  • Update contact information for all existing accounts with the latest information captured during lead qualification process.
  • Provide reports as needed to show lead generation and/or qualification metrics.
  • Track and organize leads to ensure timely follow-up by region for achieving the desired results.
  • Perform sales database and record keeping activities.
  • Keep current on product features, advantages, benefits, and selling points for effective communication and needs diagnosis during qualification process.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years successful business-to-business inside sales and/or telemarketing experience with cold calling and lead generation or sales qualifying experience.
  • Excellent customer service and telephone skills; excellent listener, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to have business oriented conversations with executive level prospects.
  • Pleasant demeanor and phone presence.
  • Outstanding time management skills; self managed and self-motivated.
  • Good analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and without day-to-day supervision.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including experience with Microsoft CRM or equivalent sales management tool.
  • Willingness to be part of a team environment, where interaction with outside sales professionals and marketing personnel is necessary to achieve sales goals.
  • The ability to accept and handle objections appropriately.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or information technology related fields preferred but not required.

  • Work Schedule: Must be available Mon – Fri, between the hours of 7am and 6pm.
