Information Architecture
Like designing a home or building, the creation of a website starts with careful architecture. And the content of the website is what drives the information architecture.
Our team starts with a discovery interview to gather a thorough understanding of your vision and goals for your website. We then work with you to define a site outline that incorporates the messages and images to help you meet your goals. If your website requires custom application or database development, we will bring in one of our software analysts to scope those requirements at this point. Once we have the site outline and requirements defined with your agreement, we will proceed to the design phase.
Graphic Design
Once the information architecture is defined and agreed upon, VC3 will work with you to create an initial design concept for the website. A design review will be presented during this phase for your feedback and approval, and usability testing is performed for those sites incorporating more complex tasks. A final design review will be held for your approval prior to beginning the actual production of the website pages.
Meanwhile, we will work with you to identify and gather content for the website. Content creation services and custom graphics and photography are optional components that are available, depending upon your preferences and budget.
Site Production
After the design templates and content are created, VC3 will integrate the content to create the web pages for the site. We take the desired text and images for each page and merge it with the template into a readable web page. Testing is performed to ensure compatibility across various platforms and web browsers based on the project's technical requirements, as well as to ensure overall site stability.
Prior to taking the website live, VC3 will make the site available online for your thorough review. Final tweaks are made to ensure your satisfaction. Search engine optimization can be provided for maximized exposure to the major web search engines.
Content Management
So now you have a shiny new website, hot off the presses. You have announced it to the world, and your customers and constituents can find you online. What happens when you have a new product or service to offer? How will you keep that content fresh?
VC3's Content Management Server (CMS) can help. CMS offers an easy-to-use web-based tool that will allow you to do the following:
- Update text and images on a web page
- Add new web pages to the website
- Delete pages from the website
- Turn web content blocks on and off by date
In addition, CMS maintains a secure environment with login requirements and approval structures.
