Can You Program a Computer?

VC3 Marketing

“Everybody in this country should learn how to program a computer because it teaches you how to think.”  Steve Jobs

Computer programmers are in great demand but there are not enough graduates to fill these opportunities.  IT-oLogy is on a mission to change that.

IT-oLogy is a national non-profit collaboration of more than 250 businesses, 80 academic institutions and other organizations dedicated to growing the IT talent pipeline and advancing the IT profession. IT-oLogy is doing this through three major initiatives: Promote IT (K-12 schools), Teach IT (Higher Education) and Grow IT (Professionals and Businesses.)

VC3 is proud to be an IT-oLogy Visionary Partner and strongly believes in their mission.  IT-oLogy’s website has a great page with links to different sites where you can learn how to build an app, enhance, remix, and share web videos, create interactive posters with images, movies, sounds and text and much more!   This site is great for educators, anyone with kids interested in IT, parents who homeschool and adults can give it a try too – it is never too late to learn something new!

Hopscotch:  iPad programming app for kids.

Glogster:  A tool used to create interactive posters with images, movies, sound & text.

Mozilla Popcorn Maker:  Enhance, remix & share web videos all online.

Scratch:  With Scratch, young people can create interactive stories, games, animations, and simulations and share their creations with one another online. In the process, they learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.
