ADA Website Compliance as a Service

Residents use your website to pay a bill, apply for a permit, or read a public notice. A new federal rule means all of them need to be able to, including the ones who rely on a screen reader or a keyboard instead of a mouse.

Municipalities turn to VC3 for

What the New ADA Web Rule Requires

In April 2024, the Department of Justice clarified that Title II of the ADA covers your website and mobile apps the same way it already covers your building entrances and service counters. Your digital services now have to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the technical standard behind most accessibility law worldwide.

That standard reaches further than your homepage. It covers the agenda you post before every council meeting, the permit application a contractor fills out at 9 p.m., and the budget PDF your finance department uploads every quarter. If a resident can reach it through your site, it's in scope, including content that a vendor platform or a third-party portal delivers on your behalf.

Narrow exceptions

  • Archived content kept unaltered for reference
  • Pre-existing documents, unless needed to apply for or access a service
  • Third-party content posted by outside parties you don't control
  • Individualized, password-protected documents

The VC3 Web Accessibility Compliance Journey

1. Assessment & Baseline

We inventory every site, app, and document you publish, then test the tasks residents rely on most using automated scans and hands-on testing. You get a plain-language list of what's broken, sorted by how much it matters.

2. Remediation Roadmap

Findings get grouped by root cause instead of handed back as a thousand-line spreadsheet. We schedule fixes that unblock residents first, and write procurement language for your next vendor contract.

3. Ongoing Monitoring & Training

Your site changes every time someone posts an agenda. We scan it continuously, add checks to your CMS before anything publishes, and train the staff who post content on the habits that prevent most issues.

4. Documentation & Reporting

You get a published accessibility statement, a route for residents to report a barrier, and a metrics package built for whoever has to sign off on it, council or auditor.

VC3 keeps your organization protected and prepared.

1,100+ municipalities and 700+ businesses turn to VC3 to get out of the IT trenches and back to working on what matters.

A One-Time Fix Gets You Compliant Today. It Won't Keep You Compliant Tomorrow.

Your website doesn't hold still. Every new agenda, every updated form, every notice your finance department posts is a chance to reintroduce a barrier you already paid to remove. VC3 builds accessibility into the way your team already publishes, so staying conformant becomes part of the job instead of a project someone has to remember to restart.

 The pattern on most sites
  1. Audit runs ahead of a deadline
  2. Findings get remediated in a burst
  3. Site gets declared compliant
  4. Hundreds of new pages and PDFs go up
  5. The same failures turn up a year later
 How VC3 keeps it holding
  1. A named coordinator owns the program
  2. Fixes apply at the template level, not page by page
  3. Monitoring catches new issues before residents do
  4. Every publisher is trained on the habits that matter
  5. Progress gets reported every quarter, not once a year

Let's talk about how VC3 can help you AIM higher.
