A New Chapter for VC3: Welcoming Tom McAndrew as Our CEO

Today marks an exciting milestone for VC3. We’re thrilled to share that Tom McAndrew has joined VC3 as our Chief Executive Officer. Tom brings a rare combination of deep cybersecurity expertise, a track record of scaling services businesses, and a genuine, people-first approach to leadership.

Meet Tom

Most recently, Tom served as CEO of Coalfire, where he spent two decades helping grow the company from a small startup into one of the world’s leading independent cybersecurity providers, with more than 1,200 employees worldwide. Before that — and throughout his career — Tom served 25 years in the U.S. Navy, working across cybersecurity, space, unmanned systems, and surface warfare. Those experiences shaped a leadership style built on teamwork, trust, adaptability, and mission focus.

Tom lives in Seattle with his family and spends much of his time outdoors. Ask anyone who knows him and they’ll describe him as authentic, driven, and quick with a good sense of humor.
